Recent Project-Lithium Mine

RIG shipped an RL3 pump to a South American lithium mine for a brine slurry service. The lithium is being processed for electric car battery production. The pump featured a 7.5HP 1500 rpm motor and was rated for 50 m3/hr @ 13m TDH. This application had several challenges including: high chlorides, high temperature (45C/113F), high altitude (3900 MASL), and a low sump fluid level. RIG produced a customized, engineered pump to tackle this unique application. Other details:

  • CN7M/Alloy 20 liquid end (casing, impeller, suction cover, stand, agitator) and machined parts
  • Continuous in air ABB Baldor dry run motor (no fluid submersion required)
  • Alloy 20 motor shaft
  • John Crane Type 21 internal double slurry mechanical seal
  • Alloy C276 hardware
  • Coated in Ergon Armor Novocoat
  • US made
